In fact, the phenomenon of spontaneous combustion is not unique to pure electric vehicles. Traditional fuel vehicles also often make noise, with a frequency much higher than that of electric vehicles. Since 2020, the annual fire accident rate of new energy vehicles is 0.0026%. According to data released by relevant departments of the Ministry of Public Security, the annual fire accident rate of traditional fuel vehicles is about 0.01% to 0.02%.
However, in terms of the degree of attention to the issue of spontaneous combustion, pure electric vehicles are far higher than fuel vehicles. So, is it because consumers are worrying too much, or is the spontaneous combustion of pure electric vehicles worthy of attention?
